Service Description

In Group Knife Making Classes (2 or 3 students), each student will choose a knife blank from a selection of AZCK signature styles (8” in overall length) and each will complete their own knife by the end of the day. What happens on the day of your class? When you arrive, you will choose your heat-treated knife blank made of 1084 steel that has been profiled (the overall shape of the knife has already been cut out). In addition to your blank, you will be provided with G10 handle material, your choice of G10 or steel pins + and all the tools, equipment and supplies needed to complete your knife. This includes individual workspaces featuring top-of-the-line 72” belt grinders. When help is needed, you are always able to ask Alessio, who will be in the shop the entire time. He will be providing basic instructions and observing each student to help, educate, and redirect. Previous shop experience is an asset when it comes to using tools/operating equipment but is not required. Group classes are not recommended for children or beginners as they require much more self-direction and there is limited supervision (and abilities) from the instructor, as he must divide his attention among multiple students. If you are looking for a group educational program that has a stronger focus on each step of the knife making process, or is more suitable for younger students, we highly recommend you check our out After-Hours Program: Intro to Knife Making. Do you have more than 2-3 people and would like to take a Group Class? Ask us about our options to accommodate larger groups for workshops, events, team building and more! Please note: We always do our best to help students finish their knife within their desired timeframe - but some projects take more time, some students need a bit more help, and as we all know, sometimes makers (new and old) can run into challenges they had hoped to avoid. If more time is needed to complete a project, we will have an open conversation and formulate a plan to help you move forward.

Cancellation Policy

Please be aware that we rely on our classes, courses and workshops being attended when you are scheduled in. Last-minute cancellations and the loss of revenue associated with those create drastic challenges for us. Despite our wishes, we must implement cancellation/no-show policies that provide an incentive for students to attend their scheduled courses and registered events, as well as prevents our small company from dealing with frequent loss of revenue. Thank you kindly for your grace and understanding in this situation. CANCELLATION POLICY FOR ALL SCHEDULED CLASSES: We require 7 days (1 week) of notice if the student is unable to make their scheduled class. In the event of cancellation or no-show on the part of the student (due to no fault of ours) we reserve the right to keep 50% of the value of the course. The remaining 50% may be used as a credit towards a future course or workshop OR as credit towards retail items in our store. The gift certificate for the service must be used in its entirety by the expiration date listed on the certificate or in the promotion. In the event of a cancellation on our part (due only to severe illness, an accident, or emergency) we will do our best to reschedule the class in a timely manner and strive to do right by any student impacted by the cancellation. We vow to always communicate any scheduling changes as quickly and clearly as possible.
